Stirm “Serpentinite” Skin Contact Riesling 2025

Medium bodied and dry with notes of crushed minerals, bruised yellow fruits, saline, and dried flowers, with refreshing acidity and soft, structured tannins. 

100% Riesling. The Riesling was planted in 1964 making it North Americas oldest Riesling planting still in production. The vineyard is dry farmed with gobelet style head trained vines much like what was done in most California vineyards of old.

The grapes were picked by hand on October 8th to October 25th 2025. At the winery the grapes were given 10 days of whole cluster maceration time with twice daily pumpovers. The grapes were pressed to tank for settling and racked to barrel for elevage. 20 percent of the blend is 2 day macerated Riesling from the same site. Bottled on June 9, 2026 after 8 months elevage in barrel, 350 cases produced, 26 ppm total SO2 at bottling.
