Poli Vermouth Bianco Gran Bassano

New to the U.S. market, Gran Bassano Bianco is a vermouth made from a base of Vespaiolo, a native white grape with aromatic floral aromas that takes its name from the ‘vespa’ (Italian for wasp) that are attracted to is sweet scent. With an infusion of over twenty botanicals including Bassano area hawthorn and elderflower along with grapefruit, galanga, myrtle and both sweet and bitter orange. The nose is redolent with honeysuckle, white flowers and citrus and the palate is sweet and perfectly balanced with a slightly bitter long finish. It will shine in a white negroni and alongside agave-based spirits, but it’s best enjoyed over ice with a twist or mixed with tonic or soda water for a long drink that is oh so refreshing.
