Bache Gabrielsen Very Old Pineau Des Charentes, Dessert Wine

The Bache Gabrielsen Very Old Pineau presents aromas on the nose of honey, prunes and candied orange. Fruity on the palate with notes of hazelnuts, dried apricots and well matured cognac. Rich, with vanilla from the Limousin oak, it is round and supple and presents a very marked Pineau rancio.

Pineau des Charentes is a Dessert Wine made by mixing fresh pressed grape juice with young cognac brandy.  The resulting mixture is left to age for 10 years in Limousin oak casks. Grape varieties include Ugni-Blanc, Colombard, Folle Blanche, Sémillon, Sauvignon, and Montils.
